We provide several general  dental services such as:

Keeping your smile healthy and beautiful requires a combination of consistent at-home care and regular visits to the dentist. At Trout Family Dentistry we offer a wide range of preventive dentistry services to protect against oral health issues. Dr. Trout, Allison, Amy, and Julie are dedicated to helping our patients maintain their smiles at any age. With services for your entire family, our team can educate you on more effective at-home hygiene tips as well as provide tailored treatment options.

Twice-yearly exams are the simplest way to catch harmful conditions in their earliest stages.

Our team loves caring for patients of all ages, including children. We are pleased to provide children’s dentistry, which includes dental treatments and services specifically designed to help your child reach and maintain good dental health. It is especially important that your child learn good dental hygiene habits while he or she is young; this forms a foundation for a smile that is healthy for life. We encourage you to teach your child daily hygiene habits like brushing and flossing, and our team at Trout Family Dentistry is always here to provide information and assistance.
We encourage you to bring your child to our office for their first visit as soon as possible. During your child’s first visits, we will provide a gentle exam to make certain his or her smile is developing and growing properly. We may recommend a basic teeth cleaning, and we will also suggest any other treatments your child needs for improved dental health. Dr. Trout and her staff are friendly and caring, and we work hard to ensure that your child feels comfortable and at ease during their visits to our office. We look forward to treating your family!

When a tooth experiences decay or another type of damage, it often needs a restoration to repair the tooth’s structure and return it to good health. One of the most common types of restorations we provide at Trout Family Dentistry is called a composite filling. Sometimes referred to as tooth-colored or white fillings, composite restorations are made from composite resin. They can be matched to your natural tooth shade for an aesthetic result.

A dental sealant is a preventive dental treatment that Dr. Trout may recommend to protect your teeth from decay. A dental sealant is made of a clear or tooth-colored resin material, which is painted onto the chewing surface of the tooth. By blocking out the bacteria and food debris that lead to tooth decay, the dental sealant prevents decay and cavities. The dental sealant forms a smooth surface over the natural pits and grooves of the tooth surface, which also makes it easier to effectively clean your teeth with normal brushing.

Tooth decay, periodontal disease, or sudden trauma can all lead to premature tooth loss. The American College of Prosthodontists estimates that 120 million Americans are missing at least one tooth. A missing tooth not only affects the look of your smile. If left untreated, missing teeth can also lead to more extensive oral health issues. Dr. Trout can create a custom dental bridge to restore function and symmetry to your smile.

Our dentist understands that some patients who visit our dental practice may feel anxious, so we provide nitrous oxide. Also known as laughing gas, you inhale this gas during dental procedures to help you feel relaxed and comfortable.
Nitrous oxide is a good option for any of our patients who suffer from dental anxiety or dental phobia. If you feel anxious because you are receiving a treatment you have not experienced before, or if you simply dislike the sounds and sights of the dental office, we may recommend nitrous oxide to help you feel more relaxed. Be certain to discuss your concerns with Dr. Trout and our dental team before your visit so we can help you feel more comfortable during your treatment.

Dr. Trout and our team at Trout Family Dentistry work hard to help you keep your teeth healthy and strong for life. Certain cases, however, may require the removal (extraction) of a tooth to improve your oral health. You can rest assured that Dr. Trout will not recommend tooth extraction in unless it is truly the best possible option for improving the function and health of your smile. We may suggest tooth extraction if:

A tooth is so severely damaged or decayed that an effective restoration with a filling or crown is not possible
A significant portion of the tooth and supporting bone structure has been destroyed by infection
A tooth is impacted (stuck in the gum tissues and jawbone)
There is not enough room for all of the teeth to properly fit in the mouth, resulting in crowding
A primary tooth (baby tooth) is not falling out as usual and is blocking the way for erupting permanent teeth
We will make certain that your tooth extraction is as comfortable as possible, and we are happy to provide you with a tooth replacement after your extraction if needed.

The pulp is the innermost layer located in the center of the tooth. This contains the tooth nerves, blood vessels, and other tissues. If decay or damage reaches the pulp, it may become diseased and infected; when left untreated, this type of infection can eventually result in the death of the tooth and necessitate extraction. To avoid this, Dr. Trout may recommend a treatment known as root canal therapy. During root canal therapy, Dr. Trout removes the infected and damaged tissues from the tooth, thoroughly sanitizes the tooth, and fills the tooth with a medicated material. Finally, to restore the tooth’s structure and strength, we cap the tooth with a restoration like a crown. In just one or two appointments at Trout Family Dentistry, we can restore your tooth’s health and relieve the pain caused by tooth infection.

Periodontal (gum) disease occurs when bacteria penetrate beneath the gum line. It is a progressive condition that will infect and deteriorate gum tissue, and eventually, tooth structure and bone. If this condition is not treated early, tissue and bone will continue to recess until there is not enough support for the tooth, resulting in tooth loss. Periodontal disease can be avoided with regular dental check-ups and good home care. Even with these measures, sometimes infection can occur. Early warning signs include tender, bleeding gums, persistent bad breath, and ‘pockets’ of space between the teeth and gums. In more advanced cases, gum tissue may have receded significantly and teeth may be loose. If detected early, gum disease can be treated in our office with non-surgical periodontal therapy. This process includes more frequent visits, every 3-4 months. In cases of advanced periodontal disease or excessive bone loss, Dr. Trout may refer patients to a periodontal specialist for treatment.

We provide several cosmetic dental services such as:

Dr. Trout offers comprehensive cosmetic dentistry services at Trout Family Dentistry to address a wide range of aesthetic issues. Dr. Trout will work closely with you to design your ideal smile and choose treatments that will best help you achieve your desired results. If you have oral health issues, such as tooth decay, we will treat these prior to beginning your cosmetic treatment to provide you with a strong foundation for your enhanced smile.

Dental bonding is a simple, conservative way to improve the appearance of your smile. During the bonding process, the dentist places a composite resin material directly onto the tooth structure. Because the resin is malleable and putty-like when first applied, she can shape and sculpt it to fit your tooth and correct flaws in the tooth’s appearance. The composite resin is then hardened, trimmed, and polished to provide a lasting, aesthetic restoration for your smile.

Veneers can give you a complete smile makeover. Veneers are extremely thin, tooth-shaped shells that are attached to the front of the teeth to correct cosmetic dental flaws. Dental veneers may be a good choice for your smile if you are interested in correcting the following cosmetic dental flaws:
Stained or discolored teeth
Misaligned teeth
Chipped or fractured teeth
Irregularly shaped teeth
Very worn teeth
Gaps and spaces between the teeth

Dental crowns are one of the most commonly performed dental services. In fact, according to the American College of Prosthodontists, approximately 2.3 million implant-supported crowns are made annually. At Trout Family Dentistry, Dr. Trout can customize your dental crown to suit your needs. A traditional crown can help restore the functional and cosmetic aspects of your smile, while an implant-supported crown offers superior benefits for patients with missing teeth.

Significant tooth loss can have a negative impact on your oral health and quality of life. Fortunately, there are many teeth replacement options available today. Dentures are one of the most common treatments for patients missing most or all of their teeth. At Trout Family Dentistry we offer several types of dentures depending on your unique needs, including full, partial, and implant-supported options.

Dental implants are an outstanding restorative option for patients who have missing teeth or require tooth extraction because of advanced disease or decay. A dental implant is a threaded titanium post that is surgically inserted into the jawbone to replace lost tooth roots. Following referral for the surgery, you will receive a dental implant restoration. To learn more about dental implants and how they can benefit you, please contact our office and schedule a consultation with Dr. Trout.

Patients who are unhappy with discoloration or staining on their teeth, but apprehensive about undergoing treatment, can rest assured that teeth whitening is a safe, pain-free, and cost-effective method for brightening a smile. We offer a variety of professional at-home kits that allow you to whiten your teeth in the convenience of your own home.

Professional teeth whitening treatments ensure more reliable, effective results than over-the-counter whitening products and can be tailored to your unique goals.
